Because HALBA wanted to expand chocolate production at the Pratteln site, goods ﬂow had to be reorganized. In this context, the company invested in a new stationary press from Hunkeler Systeme AG for compacting empty cartons.
Under the HALBA brand, Coop has merged two production plants, Chocolats Halba and Sunray, at the Pratteln site. In the new building, which went into operation in October 2017, chocolate is produced and raw products are refined and packaged. Beat Stadlin is responsible for the Snacks + Baking & Cooking Ingredients production in Pratteln as Division Manager. Because HALBA wanted to expand chocolate production, additional space was required. As a result, he had to reduce the space where the raw products are prepared and empty cartons are disposed of by half. Beat Stadlin took the task as an opportunity and streamlined the material logistics.
